1. I love to engage the minds of the young,
For their greenery is justly ambitious;
With great dreams, they take hold of growth,
None can hold them down as these energies speak up,
You cannot quench it when listening to them;
For my great moments have some of these springs as inspiration.
2. In living life, they are passionate,
In sharing dreams, they are unconquerable,
In trusting, they are to everyone full of faith – hating none, believing the best of all;
In competing, they look for a purpose,
In recognition, they seek fulfilment above titles,
In working, they desire appreciation above fame and money;
This stream runs the veins of the truly young,
This sight I behold and want as a dwelling atmosphere.
3. I love to thirst in the house of the sage,
Under their feet, I am watered over with parables –
To soften the paths that I may trod with insight,
To see it all, to hear it all from the elderly is a caution,
Because to enjoy it all, to risk it all – I shook hands with the elders.
4. I have come to terms with life that – young and old dwell on earth:
Strength and weakness roam about,
Yet nothing moves the sage of the elderly,
Nothing scares the lion with kingly roar,
Nothing surprises the amazing flight of the eagle; –
Betrayals, hatred, the backbiting, the vilification are properly handled,
And revenge, victories, failures, success are accurately coached;
This old stream is now at rest,
It has nothing to prove to anyone and lives hoping,
Oh, let these refreshing streams of the young and old rub their minds for guide.
