Amazing Beats and Prints from Benin

Palais des Congres de Cotonou (Congress Centre of Cotonou), Benin. Photo Credit: me

Ten years ago, I visited Cotonou, a city in Benin, West Africa, for a few days. I had the opportunity to watch amazing, colourful cultural displays by some performers at a programme. Kindly see the videos below:

Colourful Cultural Displays

During my brief stay, I was also able to buy some awesomely designed African prints in order to make some clothes. Kindly see the prints below:

I used the above print for a traditional kaba and slit outfit. The kaba is the top half of the attire (like a blouse), while the slit is the long flowing skirt.

These souvenirs provide lasting memories of Benin. I am glad to have visited Cotonou, even if only for a few days.

You have a knack for preserving memories, Madam! What stunning performance and prints from Africa! You look fantastic! This is a reminder for us to make an effort to wear and consume our own. Excellent!
