Celebrating Mother’s Day: My Beloved Mother and I

Of motherhood, Robert Browning had this to say, “Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.”

This piece is in loving memory of my beloved mother, Mrs. Mary Boakye, (née Opoku), who passed on in 2019. She would have been 80 years old in September this year. Darling mum, continue to rest in peace! You are forever in my heart!

To those of you whose mothers are still alive – please continue to love and cherish them for as long as they live! To those of you who are filled with sadness because your mothers have passed on – thank God for their lives and for the love you shared!

        I am my mother’s only child. We were very close too. We had a beautiful relationship and she unexpectedly passed away three years ago- three days after my birthday.
        So, I completely understand your love and bond.❤

          1. Of course! When it happened I was sad but I was okay because we were always spiritual people and I knew everything was going to be okay.❤

            And everything is perfectly fine🌷

          3. Yes. He takes over our situations as he is our rock and foundation even when we do not realize. But as soon as my mother passed I was aware of his presence immediately letting me know he was there to continue to see things through.
            It is because of the faith from knowing too what God has always done in life before from my youth on up. What he’s done in the past he will do again because he is faithful to his children who believe.❤

  5. The memories you shared with your mother, the little you have shared with us says it all. I humbly say that, your mother taught you well, it is manifest in your life. We ask the Good Lord to keep her in his bosom.
    You were not just a teacher, but a mother to us. You made what many a student feared so easy because of how you went about it. Thank God for your life and a very happy Mother’s Day to madam.
