How to paint music vibes

Music Vibes

We use art to express what words may not be able to express. Art is poetry and art is music. Art enables us to have a picture in our minds. As we all know, a picture is worth a thousand words.

We do not need to have an artistic bone in our bodies before we create art. As such, everybody can learn art, although some people may be naturally better than others at it. Art is an expression of yourself. It does not need to be perfect.

Therefore, shall we attempt an abstract painting of some music vibes? I used acrylic paints on canvas. Let us see the steps.

coloured musical shapes

First of all, I covered the edges of the canvas with a painter’s tape. This was to ensure that after I had finished with the painting, I would get white edges of the canvas, when the tape was removed.

Subsequently, I sketched with a pencil my impression of music vibes. I believe you can see guitars, trumpets, drums, ladies, and other shapes. I then painted the various shapes one colour at a time. For instance I would paint all the shapes I wanted to be orange first, then I would paint all the shapes that I wanted to be green.

Now we see that I have painted in some more colours.

final painting of music vibes

I used a pale colour to fill in the background as I didn’t want it to be white. This was so that the white edges would stand out. I then took off the painter’s tape. And, voilΓ ! We have a painting of music vibes!
