Ten years ago, I visited Cotonou, a city in Benin, West Africa, for a few days. I had the opportunity to watch amazing, colourful cultural displays by some performers at a programme. Kindly see the videos below:
During my brief stay, I was also able to buy some awesomely designed African prints in order to make some clothes. Kindly see the prints below:
I used the above print for a traditional kaba and slit outfit. The kaba is the top half of the attire (like a blouse), while the slit is the long flowing skirt.
These souvenirs provide lasting memories of Benin. I am glad to have visited Cotonou, even if only for a few days.
